Quote: Hopefully not too late for 2026 goals. Not at all, and... Quote: I stumbled on an article about coins struck by the US Mint for other countries, Sounds like an interesting collecting theme that will take you farther afied than Canda! Philippines, Netherlands and her overseas territories in WWII come to mintd, but I think many others.

Not something I intend to complete, just a side interest. They say, "buy the book before the coin", so I did buy 2 books. Haven't dove into them yet.

My collecting goals have been the same for more than 40 years.
That is to collect at least one representative coin of OFEC - One from Every Century, One from every Culture,
covering the whole of numismatic history from it's beginnings 26 centuries ago.
Fortunately, I have had the assistance of some very professional numismatic mentors over that period.

Quote: Which books did you buy? Foreign Coins Struck at United States Mints, Charles G. Altz and E. H. Barton, Whitman, 1965 Domestic and Foreign Coins Manufactured by Mints of the United States 1793-1980, Department of the Treasury/Bureau of the Mint, U.S. Government Printing Office, 1981 The first is a small 63 page book with plenty of pics. The cover page states that it covers from 1876-1963. The second is from a company on various online marketplaces that publishes its own reprints of out of print books. Its basically a page for page copy of the original, including a copy of the front cover (after a few pages of self-promotion). Its 172 pages, but no pics. However, the book has an immense amount of information including mintage figures for the Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, New Orleans, Carson City, Charlotte, and Dahlonega mints. The foreign section is only about 45 pages and covers 1876-1980. But again, lots of info like composition, weight, diameter, etc. There are a couple websites that allow you to view the original book in its entirety but I don't remember which ones. Maybe HathiTrust? I prefer having a hard copy. Hope that helps.

I guess the quote box didn't work for me in that last post. Also, I stumbled on an article in Coin World magazine from March 2, 2026. Its the cover story. "When The U.S. Mint Struck Coins For The World"

Mid-year update: 1. Sell off a couple of small collections that we've lost interest in: my wife's Tudor/Stuart OFER collection, and parts of my Duchy of Lorraine collection. CNG will sell the small (13 coin) Tudor/Stuart collection in November.2. Continue to grow collection and knowledge of saints on medieval coins; collaborate with spence on 3d article in series on this topic. There are a couple of specific coins on my watch list...otherwise I'm a bit opportunistic. 1Q: Added coins of St. Ubaldus (Gubbio), St. Januarius (Naples) and St. Vitalis (Parma). 2Q: Added my first medieval Bosnan coin (Saint Gregory) and first Byzantine St. Michael 3. Continue to add early dated/datable coins in the 11th to 15th c. that mesh with other collecting themes. 1Q: Added a dateable 1312 of Florence and dated 1483 of Brabant. 2Q: No additional progress4. Continue contributing at Numista. 1Q: Added 85 listings, mostly Low Countries, Italian States/Papal 2Q: Added 50 listings in Low Countries, Venetian colonies, GermanyUnfortunately I find myself spending at almost double last year's rate, for fewer coins

Update on 2026 goals
1. Buy from us mint like crazy. Purchased the proof double date silver eagle and the mint set is shipping today! Didn't get the silver proof set....just too expensive 2. At least one world crown I have a weakness here. I've bought at least 4 this year not including 4 canadian dollars I just picked up 3. At least one semi key morgan (didn't do this in 2025) Nope 4. At least one classic commemorative. Nope 5. Not be impulsive (again wasn't always the best in 2025) Hard not to be impulsive when nice world crown comes available! 6. Have fun CRH! I've slowed down here, but will ramp up with the recent US Mint announcement

Quarter 2 Report. 1. Fill the last three core Dansco album holes— No progress. 7000: 1916-D Mercury dime. 8100: 1909-S VDB and 1922 "Plain" (no D). 2. Buy whatever appeals to me from 2026 US Mint offerings 2026 Silver Proof Set received! 2026 Uncirculated Mint Set is on the way. 2026 Clad Proof Set may be the last US Mint purchase this year, unless something really tempts me. 3. Add more Ike and WWII related coins from around the world— No progress. 4. Move my world coins from 2x2 holders (stored in 12 pocket Dansco pages) into various hole sized of standard Dansco pages. If I do it right I should be taking photos as well.— Progress! You can see how my work is progressing in this topic. I will get more done once things get less-busy around here.

2026 Goal: Acquire every rarity (around URS-5/Sheldon R-7) in my exceedingly specialized field that comes to market. 1H26: Goal achieved, although I had to pass on a couple nice less-rare rarities to focus on the ultra-rare rarities.Bonus: Acquired a well-priced "common" with great eye appeal & toning which exhibits interesting die features such as obliterated & over-punched letters and other stuff nobody would notice or care about except me
