My opinion ... run away fast and do not look back! SGS is the definition of a basement slabber ... probably a few guys in an unheated garage throwing together pieces of plastic with their own lousy inventory. Buyer Beware! David

Since we're talking about graders outside the big three, what do you guys think about NAC ? I have an MS70 ASE that I got for $20 awhile back, really wondering just how accurate their grades are?

Didn't think it was anything special, I wasn't able to find any on ebay and that alone gave me the hint. At least I got it cheap!

SGS - A guy who had a crash course in grading, then just said "screw it", and now justs put MS70 on everything.

I wouldnt even trust sgs for authentication, though there are a handful of services outside of ANACS, PCGS, and NGC that may be useful for cheap authentication ICG and DGS (though now defunct) come to mind

I have a 1960 cent large date by the same third party grading service certified as MS70 also! It cracks me up because I know for a fact that it isn't a 70 by far.

SGS seems to have a rather tawdry reputation, good enough for them to go into politics and/or banking, where the REAL money is. Another interpretation of their initials: Sloppily Graded S....

Quote: I also have no issues with ICG. ICG is a legitimate TPG. Why do you have "issues" with them? IMO they are the #4 grading service. I own quite a few ICG Lincoln slabs and they are accurate. I've also discussed ICG with many dealers and they like them too.
