Okay, everybody! I'm closing the entries in this contest. These are the contestants:
Wheezydog (Jeffishon Nickel)
Yokozuna (Felipe Massa) & (Debt Ceiling)
Earle42 (Willis Carrier)
upstate (Andy Warhol tribute)
Lion4Life (Hobo/Train) (uploaded version 2 on page 3)
Bluezone (Wheezydog)
unknown95 (Hobo with placard)
captainwifo (Tesla)
hambone (John Deere)
newbismatic (Hobo Clown)
Later today I will choose the 3 winners. As a review, the winners (to be chosen by me... perhaps with input from my wife) will be: *The best design *The best story from the remaining entries *A random selection from the remaining entries
Thanks for participating. I expect to post winners later today, then I will contact winners for their addresses, and packages should be mailed on Monday morning.

Okay... here are the winners!
Best Design (or the one I liked best for whatever reason): Yokozuna (both designs were great, but the cleverness of the reverse of the debt ceiling nickel won it for you)
Best story behind the design: Bluezone (your wheezydog tribute was unbeatable)
And of the remaining entries, one was randomly chosen from a hermetically sealed mayonnaise jar on Funk & Wagnall's front porch (also known as: each member was assigned a random decimal in Excel and the highest value won). That winner was....
Lion4Life!
Thank you to everyone who participated. It was tough to pick winners. Your artwork was so individual and creative. I loved how the entries spanned the spectrum from digital to hand-drawn.
Congrats to the winners. PM me your addresses, though I will shoot you each a PM right now.

Thank you so much! I had a great time working on the Debt Ceiling coin, but I'll be sharing my prize with my wife, Amy. She helped me with some ideas for the coin and really made it come together. Now if I get my Social Security check next week, I'll be fine. If not, you may be seeing the prizes in the CCF sale section listed for SEVERAL THOUSAND dollars. Thanks again for the great contest and for selecting my coin as a winner! Ben

OMG Bluezone .... I was blown away when I saw that nickel. That was just too much LOL! It's OK with me, I guess I should know that once a picture is "up there" it is gonna get snagged and messed around with. I don't mind, I am flattered. Glad you won and congrats to all the winners and thank you specksynder for the rather fun contest.

Congratulations to Bluezone and Lion4Life, as well as everyone who entered the contest. I loved how different each entry was and the ideas people used to design their coins.
I had to go back and read about wheezydog. Great job on getting healthy! I'm doing the same thing right now, so I know how hard it is to lose weight and if you're like me, I know what it's like to give up the foods you've been eating for years. I'm still about 30 pounds from my goal, but I think I can make it.
This was a great contest with some very artistic people.

I actually forgot this was a contest, I just did it for fun. I will take my prize though. Mine wasn't near the quality of the others but I guess the message matters sometimes. Thanks Wheezydog for not taking it the wrong way, it was made with the best of intentions. Today is the first day of my fight to loose it and keep it off. I've done it a couple of times but alway slack off and put it back on. I feel so much better when it's off. I went to the St.Charles MO. coin show on Sat. and it about wore me out looking at coins for three hours. I need to get in shape so I can go for at least five hours. Thanks specksyner for the contest and the prizes.

I got mine! Thanks for all the goodies. I think you over did yourself on the prize, but I'm not complaining! The Hobo does make me want to try one. It's funny, but the one you did looks like my brother except for the hat.
I did notice that the pen you used smeared on the envelope. The return address was unreadable. I'm glad my address was only a little smeared or some Post Office employee would have had some cool stuff to add to his collection.
THANKS AGAIN! Great contest and great prize pack!
