One of a number of coins I bought today (and the most expensive) was this 1879 S $5 gold piece. I'm not much good at grading us classic gold, so I was wondering if anyone would care to post an opinion on the grade.

Thanks,
-XoG

EF-45 details, with the dulled look and faint hairlines indicating it has been cleaned at some point. Still a nice piece and much less common than most dates from later in the series.

Looks to be about EF-40/45 or so. I am not sure about originality from the pictures.
