It weighs 26.6 Doesn't stick to a magnet. Can you elaborate as to your opinion that it doesn't look right. Thanks

The facial features look odd. It could be a combination of wear, toning and lighting though.

OK I will take it back to the person who wants to sell it and explain it to him and pass on it. Thanks

Well wait,we haven't determined it's not real yet. Lets wait for a pro or two to chime in.The whole thing doesn't look right to me including what was already mentioned and the numerals as well. John1

OK I will try to post better pictures. There is alot of wear on the face area. The reason I am interested in it, I am trying to finish up a Peace dollar set and it fits into my budget.

I'd guess possible fake...maybe it's just the photos. The lettering and devices do look odd. I don't care for the coin.

Details look accurate probably a high relief type with a good bit of wear. I would say somewhere in the F-15 to VF-20 range.
EDIT: On second glance, I think the grade may be closer to the VG range. Some of the detail is worn pretty flat.

I was thinking VG/F looks like someone may have used an eraser to clean this a while back.

You may be right. It appears as though someone may not of liked the toning on the front and may of tried to remove it. But for the price I like it and if down the road if the budget allows I will update the coin. Appreciate the info and opinions,

I'm not saying this coin is not real, it looks like a nice semi key, low mintage Peace in Vg condition to me. The thing about Peace dollars is; how do you know? I've seen lots of Peace dollars while brousing through ebay, (something many of us are guilty of, whether we buy or not) and I see advertised fake Peace dollars, with copy printed on them. Usually these coins look really authenic as far as I can tell. I suppose in hand, checking weight, and with a magnet, more educated assessments can be made. Maybe I'll post a new topic on this since I'm currently building a Peace set.
