I purchased this Collector Card from a fellow collector recently due to the medallion's tie-in with the 2008 commemorative silver dollar for the 2008 RCM Centennial. The medallion features the same design as the silver dollar -- a maple leaf emerging from a coin and transforming into a Common Loon. The medallion appears to be a nickel planchet the size of a standard Loon dollar. The card is 5" x 5".

The collector indicated that he received the card and medallion as a gift from the RCM for being a Masters Club member.

Does anyone know if all MC members received this collector card? Was the medallion also available with (or without) the card at the RCM's locations/gift shops for a price?

Any additional info folks may have on this piece would be much appreciated.

I received one as a MC gift from the mint in 2008 as well. It's still wrapped but the medallion has a nice tone now.

Can't see the back of it since it's still in the packaging. Do you know what is there?

I have no idea if it was ever for sale or if it has any real value. I suspect not in both cases.

Mine is still wrapped as well, but I believe the reverse of the piece features the RCM logo in the center with a circle around it, with the inscriptions " Royal Canadian Mint" (top) and "Monnaie Royale Canadienne" (bottom) near the edge -- this is based on running into a loose one on ebay and assuming they're all the same. Here's the link:

The Seller thinks highly of the piece! Too much for me.

Completely agree though it cost 60 dollars more than the token did.
