Hi All,

If I went to a LCS and wanted to exchange 2 silver Canadian dimes, you think I can get 2 silver nickels for them?

It sort of depends on what date Canadian dimes you have.
- if you have two 50% dimes (from 1967-1968), those have less silver than two War Nickels.
- if you have two 80% dimes (from 1920-1967), those have about 20 cents more silver than two War Nickels.
- if you have two 92.5% dimes (from 1858-1919), those have about 75 cents more silver than two War Nickels

edit - corrected my wording

depending on the quality of the Canadian dimes and the War Nickels, that should be a relatively even trade in silver value. Then the LCS will probably add their costs, if they accept the trade. In the recent past, my LCS temporarily stopped buying/trading coins.

Try and shop around if possible. The best I could do was 50 cents ea on my 50% Canadian recently, and turned down 75 cents for the 80%. One local shop wasn't interested at all.
