Has MS-67 Become The Norm As The Highest Grade For ICCS?

coconet Valued Member Canada 86 Posts	Posted 03/23/2013 09:31 am Hi, I am curious to get your impressions on either ICCS has begun moving away from MS--66 to MS-67 as their highest grade for 1 cent? I see more and more MS-67 grades popping up on ebay in older dates such as 1977, 1978, etc... Obviously the asking price for these MS-67 are far reaching compared to an MS-66 ... however I wonder if ICCS is migrating closer to the a PCGS standard which is normally a grade above their standard (in most instances). If this is true, my concern; are we paying high prices for a grade that may be of MS-66 on their previous standard? Also there is no trend available to determine what would be a fair price? Broken-Coin Pillar of the Community United States 1812 Posts	Posted 03/23/2013 10:28 am Grading is a "Opinion" only, regardless who grades it. I admit I know nothing on ICCS grading and couldn't tell the difference between a 66 or 67 grade with coin in hand. Has anyone purchased a PCGS MS67 graded coin from Canada, crack it out of the holder and submit it to ICCS raw for their opinion. I would think that if ICCS grades it lower then a MS67, it would pay to purchase ICCS graded Coins and send them to PCGS for a higher grade. Report this Post to the Staff
coconet Valued Member Canada 86 Posts	Posted 03/23/2013 10:44 am For fund I did once submit a gorgeous 2011 ASE dollar from a mint roll to ICCS and it came back as MS-68 and broke the ICCS holder and re-submit it to ANACS and it came back as MS-70. I do find ANACS as good as PCGS ... Report this Post to the Staff
