First, I have pretty much made up my mind, but thought I would ask for opinions. I have quiet a few SB, Presidential and Native American dollars that I have collected over the years. I have pulled all SB near dates. All the remainder do for me is take up alot of room that I am running out of and provide a smile when I pull one from my grandkids ears. Anyway to the point, I am considering dumping all the coins and using the proceeds to fill a hole either in my 7070 or my final Mercury (21D). I will probably have enough to buy a really nice coin. Any opinions?
Just expect to get face value or only slightly more for them. If you get more, great, but dashed expectations by hoping for a profit that does not come os never enjoyable.
My general feeling is to keep what you like, sell or trade whatever is just taking up space. I wish I could follow my own advice more often! I managed to trade some duplicate silver once, but have yet to sell a coin.
Cash them in or sell them, get something you will appreciate.
I can see no reason not to do this; you're obviously not really invested in the coins you have and they're hardly keys. Go where you're comfortable with your value lying.
Heritage has a really nice PCGS 64FB - candidate for a bean, IMO - coming up on Feb. 27.
