Wow! I must admit, I do not know, woody. But that 1975 almost looks like it was cast, though why anyone would make a cast copy is beyond me. Acid bath? I don't know if nickel reacts with acid this way or not.

first coin looks like a sewer find, when they clean them out.

I agree with Jack, second one has had some thing spilled on it as well.

the first one definately a long period of time spent in water, I find coins like these often metal detecting in the water

I wondered more about the second one as the marking doesn't touch the leaf or the rock - maybe because they're raised (?)

right through the leaf and over the rock, just wiped off the high points
