1922 Peace Dollar Reverse Crack + Wing Spike? Help Please

flyank Valued Member United States 77 Posts	Posted 08/14/2014 5:25 pm First and foremost I am a certified "newbie" to Peace dollars and VAMs. I have been going through some of my coins and found this interesting 1922 that is in a PCGS slab graded MS63. I found 2 interesting features, one is the reverse die crack across the neck of the Eagle and one is an apparent "spike" protruding north through the eagle's shoulder. I would appreciate any opinions or classifications of these if you would be so kind. Do any of these features add value to an otherwise typical PCGS MS63? I tried various lighting conditions to best portray the issues but photography through the slab proved a bit difficult. Here is a good place to start: http://www.vamworld.com/1922-P+Clas...+Attribution You also need to look for other markers susch as doubling in the olive branches & leaves and is your spike a single or close doubled spike. Tough to tell from your pics. I tried to enlarge them but again image quality would not allow for a clear view. Report this Post to the Staff
