I went to my LCS today and bought a 50 cents 1974. The holder was saying proof but nothing about the heavy cameo found on it. In 1974. how can I determine if it is a proof or PL strike?

Thanks

P.S. Sorry, my camera is still not fix...

It's easy.
No 50cent proofs were struck 'til 1981.
Your coin is PL.

Possibly a specimen, but you would think the holder would say that rather than proof, it so easy and time and ink saving to just drop a word.
We're gonna need pics to resolve this.

1974 and 1975 are particularly easy years to get strong cameo finishes on proof-like 50c coins...
