1819-D Prussian Ein Thaler

Believe it or not, this is another "bargain" bin find.

Although a singlarly unattractive example, I thought that it was almost certainly of silver composition, and it in fact turns out to be .750 fine, working out to a bit over a half troy ounce in actual silver weight.

The "D" identifies it as having been produced at Aurich in Ostfriesland, and although 2,286,468 were struck there for this year, these are still supposedly worth twice what the ones minted at Berlin are.
