Ralph Pillar of the Community United States 1582 Posts	Posted 03/06/2008 06:20 am I believe this one spent some time in hibernation underground, and I'm not sure just how one grades a dug coin. It's really dark overall with an ugly red coloration that, also, detracts from it's beauty - 'course, my scan doesn't do much for it either. In hand: the obverse has a fully readable date, and decent detail (I think) - the reverse shows a full horn, and appears to have a full tail (hard to tell with all the gunk on it) full rim, and readable mint mark. I put it on my digital scale and it weighs 5 grams. So, what grade would you assign this ugly duckling (or buffalo as is the case) if this were your coin? Thanks. Ralph Report this Post to the Staff

I cant say what it would be worth to anyone making a casual offer or anyone obsessed with Buffaloes, even as a temporary filler. Report this Post to the Staff

biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 03/06/2008 12:58 pm Nice semi-key find It is an ugly Buffalo but even a G4 1913-D TII is a $100 coin so it still has some value in its corroded state. Unfortunately, the EF/AU details would have made it a $200 coin without corrosion but I would say it is probably worth $20-40 as a hole filler. Report this Post to the Staff
