I have had this coin for some time, but never really looked at it close. The mint mark is messed up and the two six's on the date don't look right.Could be I havn't had enough coffee yet. What do you think? Thanks
I turned the light off behind me and the picture came out a lot better with no reflection this time. The mint mark has some fill inside, but not much. So from now on I will keep the back light off when taken photos. More coffee did the trick also! Thanks for the help.
Or you could place a curtain of a taped facial tissue/white paper to filter out/block the unwanted lights direction. That is what I do. I have them there all the time as it prevents the issue before it happens and I don't have to remember to turn off/block the lights.

That is normal. The mint mark punch wore down over the years (supposedly the same one in use since 1968). They replaced it in 1979 and again in 1981, giving us the Variety 1 and Variety 2 you see listed for proof coins those years.
