Hello, yesterday I bought two USSR coins, does anyone know what theyre worth? I cant read Russian, so if anyone can at least translate them, that would be helpful! I found the coins on (131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed , but searched for them on google and didnt get anything...

I found the first one in my Krause catalog, Y# 135.1 It's a commemorative, which Krause calls "20th Anniversary of World War II victory", although I think the coin is more to the point, reading something like "20 years, victory over fascist Germany" (Russian speakers please correct me here). I also notice the figure is standing on a broken swastika. In terms of value, Krause gives $1 in XF.

They aren't worth a lot unless yours is a scarce variety that I'm not too aware of. The second coin is to commemorate the Moscow Olympics in 1980.

By the way, the first piece features a War Memorial in Berlin. The date can be found on the edge of the coin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet...ptower_Park)

Interesting...that statue must have been located in what was the Soviet-controlled region.
