I ordered one 2026 Uncirculated Coin Set from the mint, so I have nothing else to compare to. The set arrived a few days ago. As I was inspecting it, I noticed that on the Philadelphia sleeve that one of the quarters was missing. I was ticked at first and I called the Customer Service Center. I was told that this set is sold out and if I return it then the most likely result will be to get a refund of my money. But I really want the set.

Later that evening, I was inspecting the set carefully and I noticed something odd. On the front of the Philadelphia sleeve, where the quarters show the reverse, all of the remaining quarters are in the correct orientation. However, on the back I noticed that Jefferson is rotated 90 degrees. Then I noticed an even bigger error. Jefferson is paired with the Gettysburg Address reverse, not the Declaration of Independence reverse.

So there are 2 errors on this coin.
1) Jefferson is rotated 90 degrees. Very unusual for a modern coin.
2) Jefferson is paired with the wrong reverse (Gettysburg Address).

The pictures below are not the greatest but they do show the front and back of the entire Philadelphia sleeve. I assume that these are genuine mint errors. Has anyone else seen this error? What should I do next?

Sort of looks like you might have 2 quarters in the Jefferson quarter slot. Maybe that's where your missing coin is?

I know nothing about sets but think I would hold tight given what you have told and shown us before returning. See what pops up, I know others here do sets and see what feedback they have to offer on what they have received, also check out the bay and see if you see anything showing up there for sale with similar attributes.

Good eye Roller42.

Now raise your hand if you checked your set before responding.

Hand raised....

Well, looking closer at the set, it appears that there could be 2 quarters in one of the spots. Nice find Roller42 (I think). I will inspect the set again. Although I would rather it was a true mint error. I will post more results tomorrow.

I think Roller is correct. Your missing quarter is jammed in the plastic bubble with the other one. The machine probably placed it in the wrong area for packaging.
