A friend asked me to help her with 2 Morgan dollars that she was given by her sister before she past. She wanted to know if they were worth anything or should she just sell them. I told her not to take them to just any coin shop without letting me ask my new friends here in Coin Community. What are your thoughts? Coin 2 All help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for looking. I didn't know a whole lot on the Morgan's (including where the mint mark was) until reading VAM. I knew they were out there but havent seen 1 in person. Which was pretty awesome to see no matter on grade. I pretty much have been researching Lincoln's wheat to current. Figuring it was a good place to start without spending a fortune.

Yes. Morgans are nice to collect, there are some dates in BU that aren't expensive. The common dates in BU run from $25 - $40. Lincoln Wheat Cents are nice to collect, as they are inexpensive on the later dates in BU, being as low as $2 in Mint State grades.

I am a self-proclaimed Morgan dollar "specialist." I don't know nearly as much as many of the Morgan dollar experts here, but I do "specialize" in collecting them.

Her well-circulated dollar is not worth over $25 at the moment. Tell here to keep it for a rainy day to remember her sister.

I will let her know. If anything I gained more knowledge in this category. Thank you for your input.

It certainly has value. At least silver value for the common dates in this condition, and sometimes even more if it's a semi key or key date.
