1852 Half Dime Nice Coin With Die Flaw

gr north New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 02/13/2019 2:21 pm Hello, I have a few error coins that I never really paid much attention to. I am going to call this a higher grade coin so I would like an opinion as to if or how much an error adds to or detracts from a coin. Here is an 1852 US Seated half dime. Starting about 3 oclock and straight through to about 5:45 on the obverse is a die flaw on the coin. There is almost a little distortion on the reverse at about 2:00. Can some one of you go into detail as to what a flaw on this or any coin does to affect the desirability of a coin? Then in particular maybe explain this coin. Eyes4Error Pillar of the Community United States 710 Posts	Posted 02/13/2019 2:38 pm I am not well versed in grading... but from what I understand grading is grading ... and error is error . In other words a high grade of coin would be high grade whether it has error or not... If it has and error, and depending on the error it can add value or subtract value from the coin over all.
