Use the snipping tool (Windows OS). Quick and easy way to get the KB size down without sacrificing image quality. Moderator, you may want to make this a sticky post.

Not a fan. What you are doing is taking a jpeg/gif and making it a bitmap. Locking the image into a single size. With whatever artifacts are created by resizing. The image resizer does a better job.

I think installing Paint.net is a much better option than the Snipping Tool (or Snip & Sketch or whatever they decide to call it next year).
