Common enough to very easily find in India. They were made over many centuries in industrial quantities by the Native States of India, even after the beginning of British rule. Had I known a little more, I would have not have bought them. Indian officials at airports can be very aggressively officious, and will insist that you be arrested and charged, just to make a name for themselves, and gain credos from their superiors. I was lucky to get away with my petty 'crime'; they did not find the coins in my luggage. However, I have known a professional lawyer, also a coin collector, who bought a dozen silver dump rupees for a dollar or so each, about a year later. He did six months in an Indian jail, and his reputation as a lawyer was ruined. Photos too dark to be able to identify this one. Report this Post to the Staff

By the way, I think I see some similarities with your coin and the one posted over on WOC: http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/in...opic=20455.0 "If you climb a good tree, you get a push." -----Ghanaian proverb "The danger we all now face is distinguishing between what is authentic and what is performed." -----King Adz Report this Post to the Staff
