Possible 1944-D Lamination Error? - Coin Community Forum

If not, I'm curious as to what would cause the area in the back & extra bubbles of copper (i think) on the back, as well as the doubling in "LIB" in liberty and oddity above Lincoln's bowtie? ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 19305 Posts	Posted 04/15/2021 07:28 am Given the photos posted, I'm only seeing a nicely-circulated '44 D cent--complete with hits/dings and general circulation wear. Copper--a relatively soft metal--can be easily moved and reshaped when hit, especially when the hit angle is 'low', as viewed on STATES (reverse). Not seeing a lamination issue.
