My second coin is causing headaches. I cannot identify any features except possibly a trident? Diam 22-23mm Width 6.5mm Weight - 20.5g Material - copper Any help appreciated. Seeker55 Pillar of the Community United States 635 Posts	Posted 08/11/2021 09:01 am It's a paisa of the Sultans of Dehli, Islam Shah, AD 1545-1552, no mint name and date worn and partly off flan, Goron/Goenka D1050. GG says these coins were made from AH 952-960. It looks like your date is probably 957 (at bottom of first photo). https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=57170 Just FYI, I identified it by searching Zeno for coins with weights from 20.35 to 20.65 g and size from 22.5 to 24 mm. This gave a list of about 50 coin photos to look through. Also, for future reference, in Arabic writing the rounded bottoms of the letters should be at the bottom, so the first photo is fine, second should be rotated about 80 degrees counterclockwise. I was wondering what parts of the coin were used for ID but the advice on using weight etc is really handy. Also, thanks for the tip re the writing.
