Hi all,
Noodled this coin from a bulk lot a while back and stuck it in the procrastination basket. Located it again today so thought I might get the pros to cast an eye over it. Some detail on the obverse but reverse pretty toasted.

Composition - Cu
Diameter - 21.0mm
Weight - 2.60g

Thanks

Wouldn't be classed a a Low Ball because you can't make out the date.
Jus a worn and corroded what appears to be as iron horse stated, a
George III coin.

I thought George 3rd as well but can't pin it down. The farthing on Numista says 23mm.

Could it have lost 10% diameter? Is there a lower denomination than farthing that would fit 21mm diameter?

Not issued under George III, there wasn't, sorry.

It might be a counterfeit; both Britain and the Americas were rife with fake coins in the late 1700s. Many counterfeits were smaller and more lightweight than genuine coins. But I don't think there's enough detail left to tell one way or the other.
