Hi all,

Ive been trying to find out some information on some coins we have been handed down. A friend of my wifes grandfathers was handed them decades ago and was told to hold on to them as they will be valuable. Were just trying to find out more about them and see if they are what they are.

The one is as pictured.

From what we have read.
We weighed the coin to 26grams- On some kitchen scales.
Measured about 39mm. Need to use some calipers when I find some.
We tried a magnet and definanly not magnetic.
Placed some ice on the face and melts really quickly.

Any help is appreciated.

A cropped and zoomed picture would be good.

Thanks! Looks like this might be the original: http://numismatics.org/collection/0000.999.1064
You can download the full-res images and do some comparing of the design with yours so you can evaluate.
I'll hold back on my opinion since I'm just a coin newbie!!!

Likely a replica. The Foo-Kien dragon dollar is so rare that even NGC doesn't have a price for it.

Your is likely to be one of many non-genuine knock-offs.
SG indicating silver is doubtful.

Have a look at a genuine example - it does not have the fine details

This is quite scarce. I don't believe yours is genuine.

Here are a couple fakes. The OP can compare the coin's lettering since the provided pics are a bit too small.
