1983 P Error In The Letter E, Reverse

What kind of error is that? The dot between the lines I the letter E from the word STATE.

Looks like you have a partial grease-filled die. That is a very common spot for this to happen.

The lump in the E may be a zinc bubble, but I can't tell for sure. If so, it's just a plating issue, not an error. You may be able to check by trying to depress the lump with the point of a wooden toothpick. If it is pliable, this will confirm that it's a zinc bubble. If it's solid, it could still be a bubble, but it might be some kind of damage to the die.

Could be a plating bubble or a die chip.
In either case-it is not considered an error.

Agree with the plating bubble or die chip assessment. I assume the feature in question is raised, not sunken (incuse)?
