Dear friends,
I want to share my last acquisition.
Rare Denarius Septimius Severus RIC IV Septimius Severus 348.
Obverse legend: IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG. Head of Septimius Severus, laureate, right
Reverse legend: ET IA II. Roma (?), helmeted, draped, seated left, holding palladium in right hand and sceptre in left hand
http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.....348?lang=en
Coin was found in Italy. Cleaning required but I will not clean the coin. It will remain in the collection in the state it was found without interference.
I did not even dream that I would hold such a rarity in my hands

The coin may well depict Pietas. Compare with this type for Domna also from Alexandria

Obv:- IVLIA DOMNA AVG, Draped bust right
Rev:- PIE-TAS, Pietas seated left, on high backed throne, holding palladium
Minted in Alexandria. A.D. 194
Ref:- BMCRE 330. RIC IV 612. RSC 146c

Some auction houses determine as Pietas or Roma.
