1967 PL Quarter. Nice DDR And Odd Edge Error?

Hard to tell from the images but looks like slight mdd and a very small clip with corresponding blakesly?

That is a rim clip with a small blakesley effect.

Those, to me, aren't split serifs. Usually those show up with large gaps, but if the error guys think it is, then it is, but there's got to be hundreds of thousands of them or millions..

Unfortunately this is a form a Master Die Doubling, I discovered this a couple of months ago and upon further research deemed it as unfortunately being common.

As for the whole split serifs dilemma, they my not be technically "serifs" in the world of correct font descriptions, however it is a widely accepted term used by hundreds, if not thousands of collectors who are explaining where the splitting/spread has taken place.

When you say "serif" folks almost instantly know exactly where to look, so it stuck.
