A small piece of a coin will be revealed here nightly, at about this hour of the day. It can be up to 100 years old. Domestic to the USA, or it could also be a foreign coin. One guess per clue. I will aknowledge a guess as a Hot Guess, when the coin type is guessed correctly. After the Hot Guess you only need the date. I will read through all guesses nightly, before I post the next snippet, to see If there is a hot guess. All guesses made after a Hot Guess, must include the date too. The first photo snippet will be posted here shortly. The prize is recognition, of excellence.

The first Snippet. / Date does not matter so much in answer. I will refine the rules as we go.

fun. this one is tough. I dont think its any of the regular circulation 20th century US coins. it makes me think of a Washington quarter. maybe one of the 21st century ones.
I collect low grade large cents. I currently have >230 Sheldon varieties and >235 middle date Newcomb varieties.

Hmmmm. What will I show tomorrow? The date? Or some other part of the coin. I do have the coin in my possesion. You see, the date won't win the contest alone.

Turkish? Quite cold. But you have the closest guess, territorial wise. Here is Snippet number 2.

I'm stumped. I don't think 279773 would give us the date already. Must be a commemorative for an anniversary involving 1935. The font of the R resembles that in PORTUGUESA on some Angola and Mozambique coins but none match with 1935. Today's guess is Albania 1 Qindar Ar. (It has R mint mark and flat topped 3)

Nice idea for a contest.
With Triggersmob on the hunt it will be found. He's a beast on international coin designs. LOL
