Thanks John1 Chase007 and Dearborn. There's a 1974 D on vv that's very similar. Can you explain the difference. I would like the technical difference between the two so I know what to look for. Thanks again. The minute discrepancies are hard to discern as I'm sure you are aware of and I'm not. They almost look identical to me

I'm not seeing device reduction like there should be on all the devices. Seems kinda odd. Could it be md and a DDR? Thanks for your patience and knowledge

I am going to wait for the pros to answer your question because the 1974 -D DDR-001 you posted looks like MD to me as well John1

Thanks John1. The 74 looks suspect to me also but I'm not an expert. I'm thinking if it's on vv then it's valid. I don't know

When I see doubling on top of the devices I think it's true doubling because there are many that look like this that are attributed. I'm scratching my head also lol. Thanks

It does look odd to me as well. I was interested because I have a couple of the 1974-D Kennedy DDO coins, but they have very obvious doubling on the obverse. Your 1973-D reverse looks very similar to the Variety Vista 1974-D DDR. The only difference I can see is that what looks like MD on the VV 1974-D DDR is on the right side of the letters in DOLLAR and on your 1973-D it is on the left side. I do see on the VV 1974-D DDR what looks like may be doubling apart from the MD on the D, O and first L of DOLLAR where I see extra thickness, but if that is the actual doubling, then I agree, that is confusing.

Quote: They almost look identical to me The doubling of AMERICA on the OP's coin is on the right The doubling of AMERICA on the vv coin is to the left. The two coins cannot be from the same die.

I have no idea how VV list that 74-D as DDR. I think this DDR from their site must be Debunked. Errors could happened.

Thanks Cointree and DBM. I'm thinking different years different dies different rotation. The similarities alone are interesting if not almost identical. Meaning that this is a DDR. Although I'm new at this think about the 2018 2019 2020 quarter ddos. All have a different rotation. Could be something or nothing

Thanks silviosi. If this needs to be debunked then there are many more where the doubling is the same. Instead of debunking they need to be accepted as true doubled dies. Maybe collectors need to upgrade our thinking as to what is an actual doubled die per vv. I don't know. Could go either way

As for the 74 D listing look at the devices. Seems to be no reduction in the devices themselves. I don't know you tell me

Could go either way After you study and read this article, please comeback to me with your conclusion. Why we can change the vision for what is just a new vision because some eBay sellers or some errors which occur on a site like VV. Personally I do not agree with many of the posts on VV. http://conecaonline.org/wp-content/...gFlyer-1.pdf
