1839 O Seated Half Dime V-7? Any Setaed Half Dime Folks Out There?

roach Valued Member United States 364 Posts	Posted 08/25/2024 9:27 pm Hi all! I recently acquired this 1839 o Seated half dime in AU+ condition. I believe it is a V-7. The obverse has the repunched star #2 so that narrows it to V-7, 12 or 13. The obeverse also has NO die cracks indicative of a V-7.The reverse is where I am not sure......this coin does not display any cracks at all on the reverse. V-7 is described in Cummin's guide as having no cracks on the reverse, with a small O that is low and right. I think that is what this coin's reverse has, but I am not 100%. a V-7 has a rarity rating of R.7! and also this could be the finest known (current roster on Cummin's lists an AU 55 as the finest so far) Thanks for any and all help! The hardest part of this is that there ARE no cracks or anything else that helps identify. besides what I have mentioned. I'm mostly wondering about the reverse...IS that a small O and is it low and right? Report this Post to the Staff
