My first thought is die polishing lines. Anyone else think it's something else? Or know if it corresponds to a variety listing?

Some kind of die scratches. I have no idea when "feeder fingers" came into existence.

Looks like file marks to me.

Impossible to know with certainty what causes die damage.

Can't be Feeder Finger Damage, feeder fingers were not
introduced until 1896 I think.
Hard to pinpoint exactly what caused the die damage.
