How about an EF40 for this coin? I love the toning; that's for sure!

Circulated , probably in an old sulphur based paper holder .
Sort of neat for a Peace dollar !
Do doubt that a TPG would qualify the coin for market
acceptability as to the toning .
That said I like it !

I agree with XF40. Definite wear both sides. Color is unusually intense for a circulated Peace dollar but could be natural from storage conditions as noted by Pacificoin.

Peace dollar grading is a different animal. I'm not a fan of the toning
no doubt in my mind that the reverse was weakly struck when comparing the periphery to the center of the coin. a TPG would reduce the grade a tad for strike and maybe eye appeal as well.

AU50

Hardest series to grade. I had a friend that just called them all "XF'S" and was done with it.

61 would not surprise me at all.

With these photos it's a crap shoot. Reverse looks circulated, obverse MS. AU-53.

thinking about what westernsky stated I think MS60/61 is also an option. in todays world MS60 grades are fairly rare, they dont use these much anymore. I think if I was only looking at the obv I could call MS62 but the reverse is just too bad with the surfaces and strike

looking forward to see what they said

Either an AU53 or a MS62.

From Bowers via the PCGS Guide, "Characteristics of striking: Usually lightly struck, particularly on the reverse." That seems to apply here for sure.

I bought this one in 2021 because of the eye appeal and vivid colors on the obverse. Certainly not something seen often on Peace dollars. Factoring in the reverse, I figured it was an AU-50.

Reinforcing the fact that I cannot grade Peace dollars even a little bit, this one came back CACG AU-58. I don't want to sell it but am curious what it would bring at auction.

Again, the image here is terrible. The color shows at nearly every angle except this one. A terrible representation of what the coin looks like in hand - it looks like the image in the first post. Be assured that CACG images are not glamour shots.
