I was looking up Washington quarters on Photograde because I wanted to see a perfect example of the eagle with bold feathers. and this is the 1939 quarter they graded MS70. The obverse looks amazing, but the reverse looks like a really weak strike.
That isn't MS70- it is in the Photograde at the ms68 spot, I am unsure where you got the MS70 from. The only silver quarters 1932-1964 graded a 70 are Proofs from 1960, 61, 62, 63, and 64, which are not circulation strikes.
You're right, that's my mistake. MS68. I guess it's rally not possible for a circulation strike to get MS70 due to the mass production process causing minor marks as the coins gather?
