I paid a grand total of $4.92 for this one.

What say you? Did I pay too much?

I'd grade it VF. Numismedia lists a 1909 in VF for 3.45 and EF for 5.46. Sounds to me like you paid pretty much what a coin dealer would charge you. I wouldn't call it a bargain, but what you paid is not out of line either. Just my opinion.

with cwb8539's comments. This is a well circulated piece that should make VF.

I also guessed VF-20 before looking at the other comments. Nice pick-up.

I felt the obverse was that of a Fine coin but the reverse wheat stalks appear to be good enough for VF/ I think this coin would fall in the F15 to VF20 range.

I see no cheek/jaw separation, F-12.

Ear is gone, jaw/cheek merge. Fine, period.
