fenton Pillar of the Community United States 4989 Posts	Posted 01/09/2011 10:39 pm This coin seems to have excessive surface hairlines (many sets of fine parallel lines). Some odd toning too on left obverse does not match other areas of the coin. I'll say AU-58 based on weak obverse luster and some wear points on the hair; probably dipped and rubbed with a mildly abrasive cloth. I had been wondering about that luster also and had asked myself if it would still be there if the coin had been subjected to such harsh cleaning. Being still new to this I have trouble telling difference between scratches and cleaning marks but the luster made me wonder. Report this Post to the Staff
