With that said, the likelihood exists that the surface under the glue will have aged at a different rate than the rest of the coin, so the location where the glue was will always be visible. atlashealth Pillar of the Community United States 1691 Posts	Posted 02/07/2011 8:37 pm sorry guys...I couldn't wait...used acetone and got all the glue and tape residue off the coin's reverse... had to use a Q-tip with soap and water to remove all remnants... now will wait for it to retone while its sits in my type set. atlashealth Pillar of the Community United States 1691 Posts	Posted 02/08/2011 8:53 pm sorry I couldn't show you guys the pics.... the coin has nice details but has a whiter(cleaned)appearance than I would have liked... in time there will be retoning, which should resolve any issues I have with it. As far as the acetone bath...I left it soaking for about 4-5 hours..then rinsed under sink tap and then Q tip with soap and water to completely remove all traces of the glue and tape residue on the reverse....since this wasn't a high end graded coin, it worked out nicely overall, this coin has good details and is a good representative type coin for $70 Report this Post to the Staff
