He found it metal detecting.....He took his metal detector everywhere he traveled. Unfortunately, he has passed, and I don't have any more information about it. Report this Post to the Staff

DVCollector Bedrock of the Community United States 10045 Posts	Posted 09/10/2011 1:14 pm KT Ingots from this period were poured into rectangular molds, allowed to cool, and later stamped with weight, fineness, etc. Therefore, you wouldn't see markings that appear cast into the metal; that would be the last step--naturally ingots are weighed after cast, not before.
