It tested 22 kt and my boss was afraid to buy it. He had said it was worth $14,000 but we didn't know what was in the middle so I went in and bought it for $9,000. I knew instantly it was melted gold coin. The test and the color. He found it in an old tackle box from the 40's or 50's and that's what I told the boss grandpa was afraid of the government and melted his coins. 22 kt jewelry fron the Middle East has a different color because of the other 10% metal composition.
