I found what I believe, and have been told is, an 8 Escudos coin myself. I was snorkeling in the Bahamas two weeks ago, when I found it. I've taken it to a jeweler for them to clean it, and it is still in rough shape. It may be a duplicate, but traces of gold did show in it at the jeweler. I live in S Eastern NC, and am looking for somewhere to take this coin to be examined. Any suggestions?

To be sure, go to a jeweler and let it be tested if it is gold.
I have some doubts too if it is real.
If it not real, than you have a nice replica.
If it is real, then you have something very valuable.
