This does appear to be a genuine mint error, but I dont know what to call it! Very cool. I wonder if Mike Diamond has seen this; I think he would be very interested in seeing it.

The weakness in the design just beyond the apex of the bullet-shaped notch indicates that this coin was struck just as we see it. I have not seen this type of planchet defect before. Very cool.

Nice.. I remember I have a Brazilian coin which have a bullet shape like yours on both sides.. I never tried if it was loose.. I dig it up tonight and post some pictures.. |
