VG8? VG10? Lower? Higher?

Another buy at the coin store, was in the dateless buffalo bin and I snagged it for a quarter...Yes...a quarter!

Had obverse & reverse sticky corrosion on it. Acetone did the trick and it came right off.. The obverse has a horizontal scratch, sadly. Don't know if it'd make details because of it.

It has always been my impression that a full date is required for a VG, so I would say only G-04 and "details" given that obverse scratch.

That horn detail has to pull off a F-12 at least though..

I also think it's a touch lower than VG (maybe a G-6), but you got yourself a nice bargain none the less! I'd be happy to trade you my acid cleaned 1915-S plus $40 for it. :)

Atticguy, I'll have to respectively decline that offer, haha! Even though that $40 would pay for gas & my whole coin purchase + a bit more today, lol.

It's going right into my buffalo book :)

G6 details, an outstanding find for $0.25, worth about 100 times what you paid for it. Scratch is not overly bad.

I vote no details -- the scratch is commensurate for the grade.
But it would bring it down to a G04
