Why is this rare? I see the 2000P listed in AU-50 for $0.05

sorry, I was rushing to get the topic up before we went somewhere. I was meaning to say that they're relativly hard to find in good condition. I'm just taking a wild guess that because the mintage is below 5 million that it will become rare. I'm new to coin collecting so I don't know a lot about how that works. Like I said I'm taking a wild guess so if I'm wrong please tell me so I can learn from my mistakes.

Rare would qualify "if" there are only 5 or less made....but 5 million doesn't really cut it..

Looks EF-40 to me. I haven't seen any in pocket change for many years.

"Rare" might be a bit of a stretch. "Uncommon" would be more accurate. Back when I was checking 5 cent rolls for pre-82s I found only 2 in the 100s of rolls I checked.
As for a grade I`d say no higher than EF for yours.
