I picked up this coin through a Heritage auction. It was slabbed MS61, but I cracked that sucker open! Hope some of you enjoy this type

Serious eye candy for this 14th Century coin. The fleurs-de-lis armor is spectacular!

Thanks all! I fell in lov with the knight first, and then I read the story about how This type was minted to pay King John II's ransom and decided I had to have one!

That is absolutely stunning! Spectacular for its age.

French numismatics, it seems, has never really caught on in North America--more room for those of us who enjoy it.

A lovely coin. I have a few medieval gold coins and it looks as if I will have to add at least one more. That is a fabulous coin.
