I think what you are seeing is a minor scratch that displaced some of the coin's metal. I don't see anything that resembles a die crack there.

I don't feel this is a coin scratch. More as mentioned a die crack. If this were a coin scratch, the area where the right wheat grains would be affected with an incuse mark. There is a raised lines there where the die crack has not worn off yet. From that tail of the 'T' on cent and possibly a second crack from 'S' on STATES over the right wheat grains.
