1989 D LMC Fat Vs. Thin "One Cent"

Found a 1989 D LMC with what appears to be abnormal thin letters in "ONE CENT". Attached photos of 2 1989 D LMC one with what seems to be normal ONE CENT and 2nd with thin lettering. Is this just die wear? Comments?

The thinner letters are likely due to die polishing, maybe to remove a die clash mark. I can see die polishing lines above the CE in CENT.

Thinner devices like these are generally caused by overpolished dies.
