2003-D Missouri Quarter-Improperly Annealed Planchet?

I am still trying to figure out to work the image cropper and sizer. (Hope they even made it out with the post) Anyways, I found this looking though some change and I think it's an improperly annealed planchet. The edge is the original color, (copper and nickel) which indicates it may not be plated. It has a grayish look to it that caught my eye. If you are wondering it weighs 5.6 grams.
