I picked up a great deal on a 31D yesterday off the Bay. Its a High end AU, if not MS. I paid $8. Its in a knock off slab, but that dont mean the coin isn't nice.

You live and learn. I'm sure your over it by now. Never stop studying grading for all coins as well as diagnostics for keys and you will be armed with a good base of knowledge eventually.

That is an incredible deal! Can you post a link to the auction?

I bought an '11-S last spring in one of those "knock-off slabs" too. It was graded AU50 but is probably EF40/45. Anyway, I got it for $70 and cracked it out and it looks great!

I'd post some pics but haven't figured out the "Insert Photo" thing here yet.

Grading had nothing to do with it. I misidentified the coin. Thought it was the semi-key. Grading skills=good...coin ID=bad.
