I could use a little help with this new addition to my collection. I think its a silver stiver, but would like to know more about its origin and value.

@09rich15, that is a nice coin. It doesn't appear to be in numista.com, so consider adding it if you'd like bragging rights. Anyway, it is a 1/16 Thaler from the German State of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorpische. Here is a link to a Museum in Rendsburg, Germany that has some details:

On the front is a circle of pearls with duke facing right and wearing a frilly collar. The inscription is FRIDERIC D G E SL E HO with a S/T monogram for the mintmaster Samuel Timpf. The other examples that I see on the interwebs have a slightly different legend, but that isn't especially concerning to me.

On the back, the inscriptions are XVI / RICE / DAL and VIRTUT GLORIA MERC 6Z3.
