Hi all! I stopped by my LCS earlier today and he had this 8 Reales. He wasn't entirely sure it was authentic, so I took it home to ask you guys. I have not purchased it, so please don't worry about that if it turns out to be fake. The coin appears to have some bubbling, which could indicate it being a counterfeit. However, there are quite a few die clashes evident on both sides of the coin. It weighs 27 grams. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. It is a very nice coin if it's real. Thanks!

@GrapeCollects - Okay, thanks for your thoughts. Are the bubbles a dead giveaway of it being fake? Here are pictures of the edge, if it helps.

A few things:

1). The casting bubbles
2). The color of the coin and "toning" pattern is exactly the same as many Chinese fakes
3.) The edge has a seem

100% authentic!

@GrapeCollects - You do not know what you are talking about.

Disclaimer for those people which still hate the truth: Both statements are MY opinion.

Yeesh. That hurt worse then when I got stabbed. I offered my opinion, I never claimed to be an expert on the type, but I do know a bit about non US stuff. I don't know much though I'd like to think I do.

@OP if I'm wrong I apologize if not then... well I don't. TBH I made an educated guess, but apparently I have much to learn. Guess I'll stick to my side of the forum.

I appreciate both of your opinions. Thank you! This one is going into my personal collection, so it won't see daylight again for a very long time. Thanks again!
